My favorite of Rob’s experiment with cross polarized lighting

My favorite of Rob’s experiment with cross polarized lighting

Another colour extract from Robert Miller’s JemCat shoot.I think this might be my favorite. Robert had a very interesting lighting setup for this shoot. He placed Polarization filters over his beauty box in order to block out “hot spots” and experiment with cross polarized lighting.

Robert made the cat ears himself in order to get the spacing and direction and texture the way he wanted.

Here Kitty Kitty plays with a roll of Gaffa tape. Jemma is a fantastic model, she was relaxed, is naturally beautiful and played kitty-kitty with intoxicating conviction.

Sam

Sam

This is one of my favourite portraits. It’s from my first shoot with Robert Miller, where I was doing the make-up and modeling with a variety of costumes and wigs for a “pin-up” style shoot. This photograph is in fact a crop of a photograph of me relaxed and momentarily unaware of the camera, walking across the studio to fetch a new hairdo, my hair was disheveled from the violent way I’d pulled off the last wig.

Main Make-Up ingredients: MAC studio fix fluid, mineralise skinfinish “lightful”(ltd. “Corps de ballet“), bronzer “golden”, sheertone blush: “blushbaby”, lipstick “House Wine” and “Kinda Sexy” and “Honeylove”, Lipglass (clear).

Elms Koortzen

Elms Koortzen

Portrait of Elms Koortzen by Deborah Rossouw.

Deborah’s one of those Amazonian Art Godesses you think only exist in graphic novels and fairy-tales. Calming yet focused she commands respect for the casual process in which she takes photos and the powerful result she ends up with. When I see her sitting with a MAC I swoon over her mad skills. You can view her blog here: onesmallchange

Main Make-up Ingredient: MAC face and body foundation ,MAC cremeblush in “Pleasureful”, MAC pigment in “tan” and “coco beach”. MAC lipglass in “Viva Glam VI”

Ashley eats a florist.

Ashley eats a florist.

This was somewhat of a challenge but a lot of fun. Rob was inspired by an image of a girl with flowers held over her hair, and once again we set out to “better” the wood nymph feel. We wanted to use purple Iris’s over her hair, though Cally could not find them so we used these greenish flowers – whose petals were recycled as eye-brows and eye-lashes with the help of DUO glue.

Main Make-Up Ingredient: DUO adhesive, fresh flower petals, MAC eyeshadow in “chrome yellow“, “parfait amour” and “thunder”(limited ed.) MAC pigment in “golders green” was used over her lips under clear lipglass.
